Cake Decorating Ideas For All Occasions

 


You don't actually need a special event to decorate a cake, but some events that can be made memorable and special with decorated treats include holidays, birthdays, graduations, religious events, showers, weddings, and other special private events.

Here are some cake decorating ideas to help make every event special:

New Year's toast with champagne

Bake 9 inches. round and 9x12 inches. rectangular cake.

Cut the circle in half. Use one half for the top of the champagne glass.

Cut 2 or 3 inch strips for the glass rods and 2 x 4 inch sections for the glass base. Bring the two together to form a champagne glass. To make sure all the pieces stick together, slightly freeze each piece individually before assembling.

Place the pieces on the cake board. Frost the top (straight edge) of the semicircle cake and the stem and main part with white icing. Cover the bottom (round edge) of the semicircular cake with light yellow or light pink icing to make it resemble champagne.

Easter Egg Hunt (kids can make it super easy!)

Bake 6 large muffins. Cool and freeze with green frosting. Sprinkle with grated green coconut* over the glaze to make it look like grass. Place the colored gummy bear in the coconut so that it is half covered. Place the little bunny toppers on top of the muffins so it looks like they found the jelly beans.

* To color the grated coconut, put the coconut in a plastic bag. Add a few drops of food coloring. Knead the flowers in the coconut. Dry on wax paper.

Ghost Brownies for Halloween (Let the Kids Help!)

Bake your favorite brownies. Once cool, cut into 3-inch circles using a cookie cutter or template and a sharp knife. Place a Halloween template (available at most stores) in the center of each brownie. Sprinkle the mold with powdered sugar. Delete template. Finish the top and bottom of the brownie with 14 white icing stars.

Brilliant Christmas ornament

Bake a round cake in one or two layers. Spread the cake evenly with the white icing. At the top of the jar, the 5 white lines for the icing on the top are 1 inch apart. Change the shape of the line, making one straight, one zigzag, one curved, etc. to resemble decorations in an ornament.
